During the last twenty years, internet has invaded most houses and offices in the USA, because it offers direct access to a lot of information. In the same family, a father spends long time online reading about politics, economics, business and sports. He can also use the computer as a source of enjoyment such as gambling or chatting. In addition to this, parents are able to continue working even if they are at home. Being dependent on computers most of the day increases the gap in communication between family members. The mother does not have enough time to have an in depth conversation with her teenager daughter and the father does not have time to play outdoor sports with his son. When the time comes for the whole family to face a crisis, they feel like as if it is the first time for them to communicate with each other.In the case of war, soldiers are far away from home and family. They are separated from their families when they answer their call to duty. If a soldier leaves his pregnant wife for a year, he will be able to see his son, who is growing up away from his father, in pictures, videos and e-mails. In addition, he would be able to talk to his family whenever the time allows. In this situation, computers decrease the gap between family members by keeping them in touch regardless of the distance between them.In conclusion, computers might indirectly cause separation between individuals. However, family individuals have to stay joined together without being separated by microchip baskets are called computers.
